That tooth you’re worried about? The one that’s cracked, worn, or badly decayed?
At Dalton Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, we don’t extract unless we have to. Led by Dr. Lee, dental crowns are our go-to for saving damaged teeth. They’re custom caps that cover and protect your natural tooth, restoring function and appearance in one elegant solution.
Whether you need a single crown or a bridge to replace missing teeth, we create restorations that look natural, feel comfortable, and last for years.
Dental Crowns are custom-made caps that cover the entire visible portion of a tooth.
When you need a crown:
Dental Bridges replace one or more missing teeth using an artificial tooth (pontic) anchored to adjacent teeth with crowns.
When you need a bridge:
The result? Restored function, prevented shifting, maintained face shape, improved speech.
We offer multiple crown and bridge materials to match your needs and aesthetic priorities.
Porcelain/Ceramic - Most Natural Appearance
Zirconia - Strongest Ceramic
Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal (PFM) - Time-Tested
Gold Alloy - Most Durable
Our recommendation: Most patients choose porcelain or zirconia for natural appearance and durability. We’ll help you decide based on tooth location, bite forces, and aesthetic priorities.
Modern crown and bridge procedures are comfortable and efficient.

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that covers the entire visible portion of a tooth. You need one when: tooth is badly decayed (too much structure lost for filling), tooth is cracked or fractured, after root canal treatment (protects brittle tooth), tooth is severely worn (grinding or acid erosion), cosmetic improvement (misshapen or discolored teeth), anchor for dental bridge. Crowns restore function, protect tooth, improve appearance. Last 10–15+ years with proper care. Call (706) 226-2228 for evaluation!
A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth using an artificial tooth (pontic) anchored to adjacent natural teeth with crowns. You need one when: one or more teeth are missing, adjacent teeth are healthy enough to support bridge, you want fixed (non-removable) solution, not a candidate for implants. Bridges restore chewing function, prevent teeth shifting, maintain face shape, improve speech. Last 10–15 years with proper care. Call (706) 226-2228 for evaluation!
Materials: (1) Porcelain/ceramic—tooth-colored, most natural appearance, stain-resistant. (2) Zirconia—strongest ceramic, tooth-colored, metal-free, excellent for back teeth. (3) Porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM)—strong, natural-looking, metal margin may show. (4) Gold alloy—most durable, gentle on opposing teeth, visible. We’ll recommend based on: tooth location, bite forces, aesthetic priorities, budget. Most patients choose porcelain or zirconia for natural look. Call (706) 226-2228!
Cost varies based on material choice, tooth location, case complexity, and lab fees. Dental insurance typically covers 50% of crowns and bridges (after deductible). We verify your benefits before treatment, file claims for you, and explain any out-of-pocket costs upfront. Payment plans and CareCredit financing available. Call (706) 226-2228 for personalized estimate after examination. Crowns and bridges are an investment in long-term oral health!
Dental crowns: 10–15 years average (many last 20+ years). Dental bridges: 10–15 years average. Longevity depends on: oral hygiene (brush and floss daily), regular dental visits (every 6 months), not grinding or clenching (wear night guard), diet (avoid hard or sticky foods), material choice (gold and zirconia most durable). We monitor crowns and bridges at every checkup for wear, cracks, or decay at margins. Good care extends lifespan significantly. Call (706) 226-2228 for maintenance tips!
During procedure: NO—you’ll be completely numb with local anesthesia. We use topical numbing gel first, then gentle injection. You’ll feel pressure and vibration but no pain. We offer oral sedation for anxious patients. AFTERWARD: mild sensitivity to hot, cold, or pressure for few days to weeks (normal). Manage with OTC pain relievers and desensitizing toothpaste. Severe or prolonged pain? Call us—may need adjustment. Modern crowns and bridges are far more comfortable than old techniques. Most patients report procedure was easier than expected!
Process (2 visits): VISIT 1 (60–90 min): Numb tooth, remove decay or old filling, reshape tooth, take impression (digital or traditional), place temporary crown or bridge. VISIT 2 (30–60 min, 1–2 weeks later): Remove temporary, try in permanent, check fit and bite, cement permanently. Same-day crowns available with CEREC technology (1 visit). We’ll explain each step, ensure you’re comfortable. Most patients surprised how easy it is! Call (706) 226-2228 to schedule!
Whether it’s been 6 months or 6 years since your last visit, we’re ready to welcome you.
